Evidence

Candidate A: Stewkley baptism, 1628 Bierton marriage, and the 1638-1653 Aylesbury family group

A continuous chain of FamilySearch and Findmypast index records places a John Gurney, baptized 21 February 1603 at Stewkley (son of John Gurney), marrying Alice Oliffe at Bierton with Broughton on 24 April 1628, and fathering five children baptized at Saint Mary, Aylesbury, between 16 December 1638 and 12 November 1653 (John, Sarah, Daniell, Jonathan, and Hannah). A separate FamilySearch entry records a further John Gurney marrying Anne Cowheard at the same parish on 25 October 1638; the FS index does not carry a mother's name on the children's baptisms, leaving open whether the 1639-1653 children belong to Alice Oliffe's marriage or a second one, but either reading keeps the household in Buckinghamshire throughout.

Date: 1628 marriage; 1638-1653 Aylesbury family group
